About one week ago we paddeled into Croatia, Europe. The borderstation, for the first time really felt like a border, an invisible wall. Trying to hold everything unknown outside Europe. Once in Croatia the only option was a big national road, not really made for cyclists! We felt like we were riding our bikes in an other world. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry, cars, busses and trucks were passing us by way too fast and too close. For me it was the first time I really felt in danger. Not in Albania or in Montenegro but in Croatia, ‘the save Europe’. Also it was very clear to us people are more closed. No one on the road, no cafés, no ‘hellos’.
We came to the next consideration: the worse the roads, the friendlier the people are.
We hope we will soon hit some bad roads again! 😀
